The arrival of spring is an explosion of colour and light for the city of Barcelona, ​​offering multiple activities for all audiences.

On April 23rd, International Book Day, the festival of Sant Jordi will take place. The streets will be adorned with millions of roses and book stalls. It is tradition for men to give a rose as a symbol of passion to their partner and receive a book in return.

In the Caixa Fórum you can see the Disney exhibition- The art of telling stories until June 24th. This is a visit recommended for families, as they can enjoy different activities during the tour.

Sports

Sports fans have two important dates this spring:

From April 21st to 29th, a new edition of the Conde de Godó Trophy will be held, where you can enjoy the best tennis in the world played on clay. The Barcelona Tennis Club is very close to the Primero Primera Hotel.

On the 11th, 12th and 13th of May, Barcelona will be full of power and speed, as it will be possible to enjoy the 2018 Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Music

For the music fans, Anton Rubinstein's opera act, Demon, will be performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu from April 23rd to May 11th. This is one of the most romantic opera shows from the Russian composer; and, from June 7th to 22nd, the opera, Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini, will show the rise and fall of the courtesan Manon, with the context of the immigration during the early twentieth century and the memory of Ellis Island in the background.

On April 19th, the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra will perform the symphony, Sibila Pascual, in a beautiful setting, the Basilica of Santa María del Mar.

From April 19th to 29th at the Tívoli Theatre, and for the first time in our country, the musical Jesus Christ the Superstar by the well-known composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is represented.

The Canadian band Arcade Fire will perform on April 21st at the Palau Sant Jordi.
At the end of May, in particular from May 30th to June 3rd, the Primavera Sound festival will once again take place with musicians such as Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Björk and Nick Cave among others.

Markets

On the weekend of April 21st and 22nd a new edition of All those food market will take place at the National Theatre of Catalonia, where new culinary recipes can be enjoyed.
From the 3rd to the 6th of May, the edition of Biocultura will be held at the Palau Sant Jordi. This fair will represent organic products and has a greater number of exhibitors and more than 4,000 activities this year.

Just 15 minutes walk from the Primero Primera Hotel, a new edition of BCN en las alturas will be held between May 11th and 13th. This fashion, art, gastronomy and design trends market takes place in a privileged enclave, the Torre Bellesguard de Gaudí. It is definitely worth a visit.
